H&K USP Disasembly
Ever have a problem with your Heckler & Koch USP? I have. For about a week my H&K USP .40 S&W Compact has been down. The shooters worst nightmare happened, or at least mine did. When I was cleaning it a part fell out. When trying to figure out what it was that fell out I took it more apart. So after a few hours of trying to figure out how it went back together I decided it was time for a break.
UPDATE: It ended up being a trigger bar detent and trigger bar detent spring that broke and went missing
So, as everything that is undone looms over my I kept working and trying to find a guide how to put it all back together. To no avail I couldn’t find anything besides a break down diagram. So when you print it out it looked like the organized mess I had strewn about on my work bench. So what does a defeated pistol smith do? I called H&K and they kept referring me to somebody’s voice mail (Jeff I think) that never returned my calls.
Sidebar: The last thing a customer wants is “Hello? [Blah Blah] [Transferring} You have reached the voice mail of Jeff at H&K.." I leave a couple voice mails over a week or so and still waiting on that return call. UPDATE: He did eventually retrun my call and was super nice guy.
After calling the local gunsmiths that say "I haven't done one of those before." Since they haven't done one and I want to know how to do it I strike out again to find the answer on the internet. Well not only did I find a guide it had pictures and humor to boot.
So if you are looking for a guide on how to fully disassemble your Heckler & Koch USP from streetpro. I also found the Heckler and Koch Operators Manual for the USP line.
