History Channel’s reality series Top Shot is casting for season 2. I have gotten a few e-mails and questions about casting for Season 2 on the casting call post for Season 1.  Today Kristen Rinella sent me info about the casting.  You can see the text below.

Hi there,
History Channel is now casting for season 2 of its hit new show ”Top Shot”! We are looking for excellent marksmen of any skill level ready to take on the best in a multitude of historical, physical, and unusual challenges. Contestants have the chance to win $100,000 in prizes as well as test their skills against the best marksmen in world.

Below is a brief description of what we are looking for and how to apply. If possible please repost this so that all who are interested can sign up for this incredible opportunity. It would be much appreciated. Also attached is a flyer for our show for you to pass along.

On June 6th Top Shot a History channel elimination show is going to premiere.  In December I posted about the Top Shot Casting Call.  Today Tim Libby a History affiliate sent me a press release and some creative material that I’m sharing below.

New York, May 24, 2010 – Whether it’s William Tell using a crossbow to shoot an apple off his son’s head, or Annie Oakley using a hand mirror to make a shot with a rifle slung over her shoulder, history is filled with legendary tales of amazing marksmanship. Now, HISTORY is tapping into these inspiring feats of sharp-shooting for its first-ever competition series, TOP SHOT, premiering Sunday, June 6 at 10pm ET.

Sixteen of the nation’s most skilled marksmen have been carefully selected to compete in the new 10-episode series. Some have professional shooting experience, some are amateurs – all will showcase breathtaking timing, speed and accuracy in their quest to win the $100,000 prize package and title of “Top Shot.” The winner will ultimately have to be skilled in everything from muzzle-loading muskets and modern pistols to slingshots and throwing knives.

The series is hosted by actor, adventurer and athlete Colby Donaldson, a born competitor whose experience as a contestant on Survivor brings a unique perspective to HISTORY’s first elimination series.

Each week, contenders will face both team and individual elimination challenges until one winner remains. In the series opener (Sunday, June 6), contestants are immediately divided into two teams and then compete in a “Rifle Relay,” an obstacle course using standard-issue rifles from four different wars. In the elimination round, two contestants go head-to-head in “The Long Shot,” a long-distance sniper challenge which will send the first person home.

In episodes 2 and 3 (Sunday, June 13 and Sunday, June 20), contestants’ skills with the pistol and bow and arrow are put to the test. From muzzle-loading muskets to throwing knives, every challenge will focus on weapons, technologies and techniques of different eras in history as high-speed HD cameras capture the skillful execution of each test in extreme slow-motion.
Contestants vying for “Top Shot” include professional shooters and world-record holders, but there are also amateurs, including a Wild West entertainer, an historical firearms collector, and a radio gun show host. They range in age from a 22-year-old rifle prodigy to a 47-year-old retired New York cop. There is also one female in the group, the only female in the history of the Chicago Police Department to become “Top Gun” of her graduating class.

If you have been following me on Twitter for awhile you know that I have been absent.   Since about the first week of April until today I have been wide open with bits of time in between that I used to catch up on living.

I started off in April planning to work 7 – 10 hr day’s a week   for 1 month and then move to 6 10′s for 6-7 weeks.   Well that didn’t work out exactly as planned.   In the world of Carpentry contract work the job only lasted 4 weeks before labor cut backs.   So then I got day jobs a couple times a week in the same place for other companies for the next few weeks. Then without notice I got offered a really good job doing electrical work with a commercial construction company. Since being laid off from the initial job back at the first of March I have made a couple one day trips up and down the East Coast.   At the electrical job I have managed to work quite a few hours and been very busy on the weekends catching up on things I missed during the Spring Work triathlon.

Speaking of triathlon I managed to loose about 10-15lbs and started to get some muscle tone back after having office jobs for the last few years.     Work seems to be leveling off now and I have what I hope is a job for the summer and possibly even further with a good company.   Things should be returning to normal around here for me soon.

The end of the week I will be shooting in the Alabama State Tactical Carbine Championship.   Since I have not been practicing or even fired a weapon in a couple months I’m not sure I will be ready. After this weekend I’m sure to have plenty of ideas for post and catch up in all the goings on in the world.   The debate over 2nd Amendment rights is heating up recently with the attachment of carry laws in national parks to a credit card bill.   So the summer is looking pretty good from where I sit as a blogger but kind of rough and action packed as a 2nd Amendment Supporter. I am sure I will have more on that in the future.
