Just ordered a Weatherby CFP in 7mm-08. Deer hunting minnesota in area designated shotgun or pistol only and thought that this unit might bag some I’ve had to pass on in past. My problem; how do I scope this thing? The barrel is 16″ long and in handling one of smaller caliber at store it seemed quite comfortable to hold the gun similar to how you hold a rifle, with elbow tucked into ribs. Also, I often hunt from windowed stand and have ability to rest pistol on ledge with sand bag. Do I compromise optical performance for long eye relief or get the big 3×9 Burris and go for the long shots. My only pistol experience is with a ruger .22 and my 1911, niether of which have I shot often. Gun dealer readily admits that this concept of hunting is foriegn to him. Someone please help!
