US shooter Jason Turner was awarded a bronze Medal after a doping scandal involving a North Korean shooter was discovered after doping test revealed a Violation in Beijing. This is the second such scandal involving North Korean national shooting team member in recent months.

BEIJING, China (August 15, 2008)
U.S. shooter Jason Turner was awarded a bronze medal in the 10m air pistol event after Kim Jong Su from North Korea was disqualified for a positive drug test. Turner was fourth in the competition before Kim’s doping positive. From Rochester, N.Y., 2004 Olympian Turner lives and trains at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Turner’s bronze medal was presented to him in a ceremony hosted by the U.S. Olympic Committee on Saturday, August 16 at the USA House.
As of today the USA Shooting medal count is 6. 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals. Team USA is behind 1 medal to China’s Shooting Team with 7 medals. One event remains as of this posting.
Since our last posting Team USA shooters Vincent Hancock, Kim Rhode, Matt Emmons, and Jason Turner won Medals in the Beijing Summer Games. The remaining event is 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men with Matt Emmon representing the US. “When” Matt brings home the gold medal this will be his third career Olympic Medal and second of the games.
